What you will do
- Build out core product pillars as a backend engineer, contributing to one of the Craft teams (Banking, Infrastructure, Onboarding and Financial Crime, Payments, Platform, Cards, or Tooling).
- Develop banking domain features such as onboarding, transaction monitoring, ledgers, or payment rails.
- Implement 'normal' SaaS app features like invoicing, webhooks, or roles and permissions.
- Discover, shape, architect, build, test, and run end-to-end features in a cross-functional team.
- Focus primarily on individual contribution with strong hands-on skills.
Requirements
- At least two years' professional experience, open to strong mid-level to lead engineers.
- Experience with functional programming, ideally Clojure, but also open to Scheme, Haskell, Erlang, Elixir, or Scala.
- Strong distributed systems background or healthy full-stack exposure (experience integrating front and backends).
- Experience collaborating with Product Managers and UX/UI Designers to build customer-centric products.
- Must be comfortable working from anywhere in the UK or from the London office.
Nice to have
- Experience with their existing stack: Bazel, FoundationDB, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Previous work in relevant domains such as banking, payments, billing, or wider fintech.
- Experience working with small teams, ideally in fast-paced start-up environments.
