Location: Must be open to relocate to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia for hybrid work. No remote opportunities are available.

What you will do

• Direct, inspire, and mentor the CG Layout department crew.
• Oversee character blocking, set dressing, camera framing, and movement, maintaining composition and storytelling.
• Collaborate with the Layout Supervisor to maintain project cinematic standards throughout the layout process.
• Work with the CG Supervisor to test and develop creative and technical workflows for optimum pipeline efficiency.
• Ensure assets are used as intended and provide feedback for pipeline improvements.
• Maintain strong communication and flag issues in advance while working to verbal or visual briefs.

Requirements

• Previous Layout Lead experience in previs or animated projects, or strong senior experience leading sequences.
• Demo reel focused on layout/previs.
• Strong sense of composition, cinematic camera work, animation timing, and narrative storytelling.
• Advanced knowledge of layout workflows, live action and CG camera lens information, camera rigs, and cinematography.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Enthusiasm and passion for animation, cameras, and cinematography.
• Must be open to relocate to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
