What you will do
- Direct, inspire, and mentor the CG Layout department crew.
- Oversee character blocking, set dressing, camera framing, and movement, maintaining composition and storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Layout Supervisor to maintain project cinematic standards throughout the layout process.
- Work with the CG Supervisor to test and develop creative and technical workflows for optimum pipeline efficiency.
- Ensure assets are used as intended and provide feedback for pipeline improvements.
- Maintain strong communication and flag issues in advance while working to verbal or visual briefs.
Requirements
- Previous Layout Lead experience in previs or animated projects, or strong senior experience leading sequences.
- Demo reel focused on layout/previs.
- Strong sense of composition, cinematic camera work, animation timing, and narrative storytelling.
- Advanced knowledge of layout workflows, live action and CG camera lens information, camera rigs, and cinematography.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiasm and passion for animation, cameras, and cinematography.
- Must be open to relocate to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
