Software Engineer Intern (LEARN)

TL;DR

Location: Remote or home-based role, open to various locations in the Eastern and Central Time Zones (US-based candidates only).

Salary: $28/hour for undergraduate students; $30/hour for graduate students

What you will do

• Learn the tools and systems used by the team and complete clearly defined tasks.
• Build new features and improve existing code with guidance from the team.
• Work collaboratively with developers and stakeholders to understand goals and workflows.
• Participate in an agile development process, including planning and feedback.
• Help identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Document issues and improvements to help strengthen services.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2027.
• Must demonstrate hands-on development experience in Java and Python.
• Must display working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, AWS, RDS, or PostgreSQL.
• Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must exhibit solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, curiosity, and eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Nice to have

• Familiarity and experience with unit or integration tests for your code.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology using Jira.
• Familiarity with source control management systems such as GitHub.
