Salary: CAD $203,300–$253,300/year (Alberta, British Columbia & Ontario) or CAD $183,000–$233,000/year (other Canadian locations)

What you will do

• Lead design and implementation of core backend services and integrations for Wirespeed’s detection and enrichment platform.
• Own high-impact integrations with key security tools (EDR, identity providers, SIEMs) end to end, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with detection engineering and security operations to translate strategies into production-quality logic and pipelines.
• Set technical standards for code quality, testing, and observability, driving consistent adoption.
• Mentor and guide senior engineers on complex architectural decisions and scalable, secure solutions.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a backend or platform engineer building distributed systems and cloud-based services.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript/Node.js or similar modern backend language/framework.
• Hands-on experience designing and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs or platforms; experience with security tools (EDR, identity, SIEM) highly preferred.
• Solid understanding of security concepts and practices, with expertise in endpoint detection and response, identity and access management, SIEM/log analytics, or detection engineering.
• Proven ability to design, deliver, and operate complex, high-volume data systems with strong reliability and observability.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, including influencing architecture and mentoring.
• Strong communication skills and an outcome-oriented approach.
