What you will do

• Own the roadmap and technical direction for the Claude Agent SDK (Python and TypeScript).
• Design clean, intuitive APIs for building powerful, reliable AI agents.
• Partner with internal teams (Claude Desktop, Cowork, IDE extensions) to understand and prioritize their needs.
• Engage with external developers to understand SDK usage and friction points.
• Raise the quality of documentation, examples, and overall developer experience.
• Collaborate with other engineers to expose new model capabilities via SDK abstractions.

Requirements

• English: B2 required.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong opinions on great developer tools, grounded in experience building or using them.
• Experience designing and shipping developer-facing SDKs or APIs.
• Excitement about the frontier of agentic AI.
• Hands-on experience with agentic patterns: tool use, orchestration, context management, multi-step reasoning.
• Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and push projects forward.

Nice to have

• Maintained a project built on the Claude Agent SDK.
• Experience managing an open source project on GitHub.
• Experience scaling TypeScript or Python library codebases.
• Shipped SDKs or APIs used by external developers in production.
