Software Engineer II (Golang)

TL;DR

Software Engineer II (Golang): Developing and maintaining user interfaces, APIs, and infrastructure toolings for a global Traffic Management solution with an accent on managing Service Mesh, API Gateways, and Kubernetes traffic resources. Focus on crafting simple solutions to complex engineering problems and contributing to architectural discussions.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany (2 days a week on campus). Relocation support to Berlin is provided.

What you will do

• Manage and optimize Global Service Mesh, API Gateways, SSL Certificates, Domain Management, Kubernetes Traffic Resources, and Cloud Networking.
• Develop and maintain user interfaces, API, and infrastructure toolings for operating traffic resources and automations.
• Provide technical support, ensuring seamless operation and troubleshooting of traffic engineering components.
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
• Actively contribute to technical discussions and drive technological improvements.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Service Mesh solutions (preferably Istio), API Gateways, and cloud networking.
• Proficiency in managing DNS and domain configurations.
• In-depth understanding of Kubernetes and its traffic management resources.
• Fluent in reading and writing Golang code.
• Competence in cloud networking concepts and configuration.
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and methodologies.

Nice to have

• Experience in measuring, monitoring, and improving latency in complex traffic platforms.
• Hands-on Experience with the Open Application Model.
• Previous involvement in running a tech platform.
