What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
• Work on a large, complex system supporting multiple services and high-value customers.
• Contribute to modernizing existing systems, including migrations to newer technologies and architectures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, application specialists, and testers to deliver reliable solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions and problem-solving activities.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability while ensuring business continuity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in relevant Software Engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Must work from the Christchurch office three or more days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with FastAPI.
• Experience with React, Azure, GCP, and Terraform.
