Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany (expected in office at least three days per week)

What you will do

• Lead a high-performing team building platform and infrastructure for hirify.global’s AI capabilities.
• Contribute directly to production code to build knowledge and context.
• Support ML Scientists and Engineers in building AI-powered capabilities.
• Plan, prioritize, and deliver high-impact roadmaps in partnership with senior engineers.
• Improve developer experience across the AI infrastructure stack, ensuring systems are observable, scalable, and easy to build upon.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering teams, ideally across infrastructure or platform domains.
• Strong prior experience working as an engineer.
• Strong technical judgment and ability to coach senior engineers through complex architectural trade-offs.
• Adaptable leadership style for a quickly growing and changing group.
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for AI, with a desire to learn about ML systems in production.
• Must be able to work hybrid from Berlin, Germany.

Nice to have

• Recent hands-on coding experience or notable open source contributions.
• Previous experience in hands-on EM/IC role or alternating between EM and IC roles.
• Previous experience building AI powered products or platforms.
