Product Manager (Fintech, API Platform)

Product Manager (Fintech, API Platform): Leading the development and execution of hirify.global's Universal API platform to enable B2B distribution and partner integrations, with an accent on defining API standards, onboarding internal teams, and ensuring a world-class external developer experience. Focus on shipping a scalable and extensible API gateway, contributing to engineering decisions, and enabling new commercial opportunities.

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (Hybrid). Minimum 2 days per week in-office required.

What you will do

• Ship and run a scalable, durable, and extensible API Gateway for the hirify.global group.
• Define comprehensive API standards for both internal and external APIs across the group.
• Onboard all internal users onto the new API stack, ensuring smooth adoption.
• Collaborate with the Upstream product team and commercial stakeholders to enable new partnership and distribution models.
• Lead the development and delivery of a world-class external developer experience via a portal, documentation, and sandboxes.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Manager working with API platforms, developer tools, or previous experience as a Software Engineer in these domains.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, capable of deep data analysis and contributing to engineering decisions on API standards.
• Experience shaping discovery with non-technical partners, including interviews, user research, and requirements gathering.
• Proven ability to set direction, objectives, and roadmaps for a team.
• Excellent communication skills for aligning cross-functional teams.
• Confident decision-maker who can prioritize and make progress in incomplete information environments.
