Senior Android Developer: Modernizing and evolving the hirify.global Android app, migrating from Java to Kotlin and Jetpack Compose while shipping product features to a global user base with an accent on driving the migration, refactoring legacy code, and building new features. Focus on contributing to architecture decisions, improving tooling, testing, CI/CD, and maintaining overall platform health.

Location: Hybrid in Stockholm, Sweden. Relocation support is provided for candidates joining from afar.

What you will do

• Help modernize and evolve the hirify.global Android app.
• Drive migration from Java to a modern Kotlin + Compose stack.
• Refactor legacy code and proactively pay down tech debt.
• Build and modernize Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Contribute to architecture decisions (MVVM/MVI, Coroutines, platform improvements).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with iOS, Web, Product, Design, and QA.
• Improve tooling, testing practices, and CI/CD where needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building Android applications.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin (and solid Java understanding).
• Experience with modern Android architecture (Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, MVVM/MVI).
• Proven ability to work independently and ship high-quality code.
• High English proficiency is required.
• Care about the code you leave behind and prefer pragmatic solutions.
• Experience migrating legacy Android codebases to modern stacks.

Nice to have

• Experience with mobile CI/CD, testing, or DevOps practices.
• Experience with collaborating across platforms (iOS/Web).
