Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design and standardise camera layouts including height, angle, field of view, and overlap for AVI units.
• Configure camera parameters such as exposure, gain, shutter, focus, and frame rate.
• Support new site deployments, upgrades, and on-site troubleshooting of imaging issues.
• Identify and resolve problems caused by glare, shadows, reflections, vibration, or environmental factors.
• Collaborate closely with AI and ML teams to diagnose image-related performance issues.
• Define, maintain, and document version-controlled "known good" camera configurations.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with camera systems, CCTV, machine vision, or imaging hardware.
• Strong understanding of optics, lighting, angles, and image quality fundamentals.
• Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting cameras in real-world environments.
• Comfortable working on-site within industrial, depot, or workshop settings.
• Ability to clearly document technical setups.

Nice to have

• Exposure to computer vision or AI-powered imaging systems.
• Familiarity with AVI, ANPR, or vehicle inspection environments.
• Understanding of how image quality impacts ML model performance.
• Experience with platforms such as Basler, Hikvision, or Axis.
• Basic networking knowledge including IP cameras, PoE, and switches.
