Location: Candidates must be based in London or US East Coast. The London team operates on a hybrid model, requiring 3 days a week in the Oxford Street office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable cloud-based backend services and APIs.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Design, implement, and manage databases (SQL, NoSQL), optimizing for performance and reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Go or Rust.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• Strong experience in backend development, with a focus on cloud-based solutions.
• Proven experience building public-facing APIs in Go or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploying to Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and communication protocols (HTTP, WebSockets, RESTful APIs, gRPC).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) and observability/monitoring best practices.
• Experience with distributed systems, load balancing, system monitoring, and infrastructure as code (Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation).
