Engineer I - Sensor, SSP (Cybersecurity): Building and optimizing systems code for hirify.global’s Falcon sensor, running on endpoints and reasoning over operating system event streams with an accent on core logic and security action. Focus on understanding, modifying, and owning critical sensor detections, collaborating with various engineering teams, and diagnosing customer issues.

Location: Hybrid role, working out of Toronto, ON, Canada, requiring 2 days per week in office once the development center is opened/established.

What you will do

• Write systems code running on endpoints, processing operating system event streams.
• Gain expertise in the Falcon sensor's core logic: event reasoning, filtering, telemetry, and security actions.
• Understand, modify, and own complex sensor detections and response capabilities.
• Communicate system design, constraints, and guarantees.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, adversary response, malware research, product, and program teams.
• Write unit, functional, and integration tests (primarily in Python) and resolve customer issues.

Requirements

• Ability to take responsibility and ownership of your work.
• System programming experience or interest in operating systems.
• Good communication skills to interact with various internal teams.
• Ability to design and implement performant, functionally correct, and well-structured logic.
• Ability to reason about endpoint-cloud interaction and communicate with cloud development teams.
• Willingness to learn to read and write C++.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a distributed team across time zones.
