What you will do

• Perform vendor risk assessments to ensure the security of third-party software.
• Collect evidence to verify the effectiveness of security controls.
• Help maintain the risk register, tracking potential company threats and proactive solutions.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to implement controls that meet compliance and security standards.

Requirements

• Must be a student at a Nevada college with 2 years of tech experience, or have completed 2 years of school toward a degree in Cyber, Business, or IT, and live in Nevada.
• Clear communication skills to explain technical topics to non-technical individuals.
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to independently research and solve problems.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to act on instructions and make progress.
• Baseline understanding of business processes, teams, and security and compliance basics.

Nice to have

• Advanced education or certifications such as CISA, CySA, Security+, or ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity.
