Location: Must be based in Santa Clara, CA, USA. Applicants must also be eligible to access export-controlled information under U.S. laws and regulations.

Salary: $158,600 - $237,600 per annum

What you will do

• Be responsible for all aspects of engineering design, process development, and productization for hirify.global’s optics DCI product line.
• Contribute to optical component development and heterogeneous integration for next-generation products.
• Implement creative solutions to accelerate next-gen photonics product development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Digital/Analog Circuit designers, Signal/Power Integrity, and system design.
• Perform system-level testing under various operating conditions and validate hardware, firmware, and control loops.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or related field with 5+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience.
• Excellent understanding of semiconductor physics and successful design experience with optical devices (detectors, modulators, integrated optical components).
• Hands-on experience with optical and RF electrical modeling/simulation software to design electro-optical devices and EDA tools for photonic IC layout.
• Hands-on optical device characterization, including DC, RF, and device control.
• Familiarity or direct experience with advanced electro-optic material and integration into Silicon photonics platforms.
• Familiarity or direct experience in standard Si/CMOS/MEMS process technologies for electrical and optical device fabrication and integration.
