What you will do
- Select and implement machine learning models for time-series forecasting and supply-chain optimization.
- Contribute well-tested object-oriented Python code and engineer robust data pipelines and products.
- Analyze raw data sets, conduct deep dive analysis, and design KPIs to guide business decisions.
- Communicate analytical findings intuitively and visually, creating interactive dashboards via Tableau, PowerBI, or custom web applications.
- Architect cloud data platform components and infrastructure supporting BI and ML data pipelines, with expertise in GCP.
- Build and track project timelines, dependencies, and risks, while gathering stakeholder requirements and conducting technical due diligence.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with GCP services including BigQuery, Vertex AI, Looker, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Run.
- More than 4 years of industry experience in similar roles, developing predictive or inferential statistical models, or a relevant Masters/PhD degree in quantitative studies.
- Proficiency in programmatic languages such as SQL, Python, and R, along with experience in statistical and machine learning libraries.
- Experience defining and reporting model acceptance metrics (e.g., precision/recall, MAPE) with documented backtesting, and delivering production model artifacts.
- Advanced English skills required, especially for Québec-based positions, as the role involves regular communication with clients and colleagues outside of Québec.
- Must be based in the provinces of Ontario or Québec, or the city of Vancouver, Canada.
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to packaged software libraries in open-source or industry repositories.
- Proficiency in visualization/reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, R ggplot2, Python matplotlib/seaborn/bokeh, or Javascript D3.
- Proficiency in Looker and SQL-first analytical storytelling.
- Proficiency scripting in a UNIX environment and with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hive).
- Proficiency with cloud architecture components (AWS, Azure, Google) and GCP architecture for secure analytics products.
- Proficiency with data pipeline software such as Airflow, Luigi, or Prefect.
- Ability to turn raw data and ambiguous business questions into distilled findings and recommendations.
- Proficiency in front and back-end web application development stacks and frameworks (Javascript, HTML, CSS, React/Vue/AngularJS), including API design (REST/GraphQL).
- Experience leading and managing technical data/analytics/machine learning projects.
