What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve the Android platform in Kotlin.
• Play a key role in migrating the app from React Native to native Android.
• Collaborate with the wider mobile engineering community, defining best practices and mentoring.
• Improve app performance, robustness, and quality by addressing technical debt and fixing defects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver features leveraging native Android capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong track record building and shipping production Android applications in Kotlin.
• Solid understanding of Android frameworks, platform APIs, and native app development best practices.
• Experience with modern, high-engagement mobile applications, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Proven history of raising engineering standards through thoughtful design, testing, and maintainable code.
• Motivated by opportunities to have broad impact through process, tooling, and automation improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience applying mobile security best practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.
• Experience collaborating with iOS (Swift) and/or React Native engineers.
