What you will do

• Be part of a cross-functional team building and maintaining the Data as a Service (DaaS) platform.
• Build and maintain the performance and reliability of the Data platform, focusing on resource utilization, cost optimization, and data isolation.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for the DaaS platform, contributing PRs and reviewing work.
• Actively participate in refining the architecture as decisions are taken by the team.
• Be on call for production customers, striving to automate responses on events rather than trigger alerts.

Requirements

• At least 4 years experience with Databricks infrastructure (maintaining, scaling, performance tuning, cost optimisation).
• At least 5 years in a similar role running workloads on a public cloud (preferably Azure).
• Experience with building, scaling and maintaining Data platforms on public cloud.
• Experience with monitoring tools and metrics like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
• Experience in programming, automation, and managing cloud environments using desired state configuration (Terraform/OpenTofu preferred).
• Experience using CLI based tooling and maintaining/troubleshooting Linux based operating systems.
• Strong communication skills required.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-tenant Databricks installations.
• Knowledge of Gitops / ArgoCD.
