Senior Software Engineer (.NET, IAM)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (.NET, IAM): Building and optimizing high-load backend services for an identity security platform with an accent on distributed systems architecture, API design, and scalability. Focus on solving complex concurrency challenges, improving system performance, and contributing to secure, reliable systems.

Location: Hybrid in Santa Clara, United States (2–3 days onsite required). Relocation support is not available, but candidates planning to move to the area are welcome.

Salary: $155,000–$190,000/year, plus discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Build and evolve distributed backend services in .NET to support global enterprise workloads.
• Architect new capabilities using cloud-native patterns and modern engineering practices.
• Improve system performance and resiliency across caching, async flows, data pipelines, and service-level behaviors.
• Lead deep debugging and profiling efforts, including load analysis and distributed tracing.
• Collaborate with platform, product, and cloud teams to influence architecture decisions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to a high-trust, high-ownership engineering culture.

Requirements

• Designed and built large-scale, cloud-based backend systems.
• Fluent in .NET, or a strong Java engineer willing to ramp up quickly.
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in large-scale or enterprise environments.
• Experience with distributed systems (caching, resiliency, async patterns, failover, load balancing).
• Strong understanding of API design and backend service integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP preferred).
• Work effectively in a hybrid environment (2–3 days onsite in Santa Clara).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with identity standards (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML).
• Active Directory experience, performance engineering, or experience in identity/security environments.
