What you will do
- Implement and evolve performance and reliability tests for cloud-native, microservices-based systems.
- Build and maintain performance test components for load generation, result collection, and analysis.
- Execute performance tests in CI/CD pipelines and integrate them into regular development workflows.
- Use observability tools to analyze, visualize, and communicate performance results, including latency distributions, throughput, and error rates.
- Partner with development teams to help them understand performance test results and improve system behavior under load.
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions related to test infrastructure and performance.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of experience in test automation, SDET, performance engineering, or backend engineering roles, with a strong testing focus.
- Strong coding skills in Go, Java, or Python (Go preferred).
- Hands-on experience implementing performance tests for cloud-based applications.
- Practical understanding of performance testing types (baseline, load, stress, soak), load patterns, and core performance metrics (p50/p90/p99 latency, throughput, error rates).
- Experience working with observability platforms to analyze and visualize performance data, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Experience building upon at least one public cloud platform (GCP preferred, but AWS, Azure also valuable).
- Solid understanding of Linux-based systems and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
Nice to have
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as k6, Locust, JMeter, or Gatling, or custom-built load generators.
- Experience working with containerized environments and distributed systems.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure components and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience with SaaS platforms or security-sensitive systems.
