What you will do

• Perform exploratory data analysis and feature engineering on vast quantities of data.
• Train ML models using the latest ML frameworks.
• Design and develop software systems around ML models, including building foundational models from scratch (Data Acquisition, Infrastructure, Pre-Training, Evaluations, Fine-Tuning).
• Work with the engineering team to integrate research outcomes into the product portfolio.
• Present research work to broad audiences from academic to industry.

Requirements

• This is a 12-month, full-time fellowship opportunity.
• PhD in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Physics or a related field with a strong focus on Machine Learning and Life Sciences or Finance.
• Strong experience in Python and ML frameworks such as Huggingface Transformers, LangChain, Tensorflow or PyTorch.
• Successful research track record in the field of ML.

Nice to have

• Experience building foundational models.
• Experience contributing to open source projects.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).
• Experience in the life sciences and/or finance.
