What you will do
- Lead complex and high-risk fraud investigations from triage to resolution.
- Operate within established incident and fraud frameworks, ensuring swift containment and accurate evidence.
- Assess customer and financial impact, identify root causes, and provide recommendations.
- Maintain control and clarity during live, high-value, or ambiguous incidents.
- Produce high-quality, well-evidenced investigative outputs for internal and external scrutiny.
- Share insights with Fraud Strategy to inform detection, prevention, and risk management.
- Prioritise minimising customer harm and delivering fair outcomes with clear communication.
Requirements
- Experience in a fraud investigations role (or similar) within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of fraud investigations across multiple products and associated risks.
- Expertise in various fraud types, including impersonation, ACTO/APP, account compromise, and crypto-related fraud.
- Ability to apply balanced, risk-based judgment aligned with company policies and regulatory expectations.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle difficult customer conversations professionally.
- Strong awareness of emerging fraud risks.
