TL;DR

What you will do

  • Define and drive the technical art vision, standards, and visual benchmarks across all art disciplines.
  • Spearhead research and adoption of emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in aesthetics and performance.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Art Directors, Producers, and Studio leadership, balancing visual ambition with technical feasibility.
  • Lead pre-production planning and technical assessments, designing robust mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor team members, fostering career growth and a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Architect scalable, efficient, and robust end-to-end art pipelines optimized for platform performance and global operations.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for clients, identifying opportunities and elevating deliverables to a world-class standard.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience as a Lead Technical Artist or Technical Art Director in the video game industry, with at least one shipped AAA title.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end game art pipelines, including tools like Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, C#, and C++ for reviewing, guiding, and prototyping solutions.
  • Strong understanding of game engine technologies (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity), with solid grasp of rendering and performance optimization.
  • Experience architecting scalable workflows and pipeline solutions supporting multiple teams, projects, and platforms.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to mentor and motivate art/technical art teams.
  • English: B2 required.
