What you will do
- Review and moderate user-generated content (comments and discussions) for compliance with FT community guidelines and editorial standards.
- Apply sound editorial judgment when assessing sensitive, controversial, or high-risk content, escalating complex cases as appropriate.
- Monitor the moderation system, support subscribers with commenting platform access, and recommend process improvements.
- Liaise closely with Community Manager and Social Media Desk Editors, moderating posts across FT social media channels.
- Produce regular moderation reports, highlighting key statistics, trends, and emerging risks.
- Contribute positively to team culture and stay current with evolving platform tools and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience in content moderation, digital publishing, journalism, or community management is preferred.
- Strong understanding of the news cycle and global current affairs.
- Familiarity with online publishing tools, moderation systems, and digital platforms.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and ability to identify risks quickly.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
