Senior Software Engineer (JVM/AWS)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Driving the design and implementation of new features and designing robust microservices integrations via REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns for financial services. Focus on translating complexity into elegant design, creating high-quality code, and debugging production issues across our services infrastructure.

Location: Remote, hybrid work arrangement from our Mexico City office is also possible

What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of new features, breaking down complex problems into their bare essentials and creating high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design and deliver robust microservices integrations via REST/gRPC APIs and messaging patterns.
• Collaborate and mentor other engineers while providing thoughtful guidance using code, design, and architecture reviews.
• Work cross-functionally with other teams, including data science, design, product, marketing, and analytics.
• Debug production issues across our services infrastructure.
• Create and maintain test automation to enable continuous integration and development velocity

Requirements

• 4+ years of development experience in Software Engineering.
• Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Proficient in Python, with strong knowledge of modern language features and best practices.
• Experience building production systems using frameworks such as Django or FastAPI.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience working in cloud environments: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
• Hands-on experience with streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, and AWS Kinesis.
