Senior Software Engineer (Java Platform): Building and maintaining the Java infrastructure that powers the data cloud with an accent on driving the strategic direction and evolution of how hirify.global uses Java. Focus on solving some of the most challenging performance, scalability, and availability problems that exist in the world today.

Location: Onsite in Berlin, Germany. Open to talented software engineers from Europe and around the world for our European Engineering Center.

What you will do

• Solve real business needs at large scale by applying software engineering and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Build the next-generation systems that make using Java safe, performant, and secure.
• Provide a consistent platform that hirify.global engineers can use to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Pinpoint performance and availability problems, instrumenting relevant components as needed, and implementing solutions.
• Ensure operational readiness of Java infrastructure to meet availability and performance commitments through proactive monitoring.
• Work on global projects with team members that have an impact on millions of users.

Requirements

• 7+ years industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.
• 5+ years experience building and maintaining complex Java systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Deep experience with modern Java runtime and testing tools, methodologies, and techniques.
• Proven understanding of JVM internals and diagnosing Java/JVM behavior problems.
• Must work from the office located in Berlin, Germany.
• English is the official language for this office.

Nice to have

• Systems programming skills including multi-threading, concurrency, and caching.
• Knowledge of database and Linux internals.
• BS in Computer Science; Masters or PhD Preferred.
