What you will do

• Own the technical strategy and execution, driving projects from initial formulation to deployment.
• Provide deep technical oversight through design reviews, architecture discussions, and complex system implementations.
• Set the bar for engineering excellence and coding best practices as a subject matter expert.
• Mentor and coach engineers and grow the team through proactive hiring.
• Collaborate with Product Management to translate user needs into clear technical roadmaps.
• Lead improvements in engineering processes, tooling, and standards to increase efficiency and velocity.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience designing and building large-scale user-facing production systems.
• 3+ years of experience managing and leading teams building mission-critical, high-throughput, low-latency systems.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Must be based in Toronto, Ontario for hybrid work.

• Extensive development experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
