TL;DR

Data Scientist (AI/ML): Designing, experimenting, and deploying AI/ML models and agents to automate product attribute enrichment and moderation at scale with an accent on NLP, classification, recommendation systems, and LLMs. Focus on formulating hypotheses, validating model performance, analyzing business impact, and bringing ML-powered services into production with real business impact.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany (2 days a week on campus). hirify.global provides relocation support to Berlin.

What you will do

• Design, experiment, and deploy AI/ML models/Agents to automate product attribute enrichment and moderation.
• Drive experimentation: formulate hypotheses, validate model performance, analyze business impact, and turn insights into production-ready models.
• Develop and provide ML models for intelligent product assortment curation, including attribute extraction and categorization.
• Apply state-of-the-art models (e.g., NLP, deep learning, classification, LLMs/AI agents) for catalog automation.
• Collaborate with MLEs and Engineers to ensure scalable, reliable, and fast solutions in production.
• Contribute to the long-term vision of catalog automation and AI-driven assortment, delivering measurable business impact.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience applying Data Science and Machine Learning in production, ideally in large-scale consumer-facing applications.
• Deep expertise in building and deploying ML models, particularly in Natural Language Processing (NLP), classification, recommendation systems, LLMs, or agentic frameworks.
• Strong statistical foundations for large-scale experimentation and model validation.
• Excellent engineering skills: write clean, maintainable Python code and experience bringing ML models into production.
• Experience with large-scale ML model validation, experimentation, and A/B testing.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally, translating business problems into data science solutions.
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• PhD in AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Experience scaling catalog automation or content generation systems across multiple markets.
• Experience in designing or building Agentic AI systems or fine-tuning Large Language Models.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
