Senior Flight Platform Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Hybrid. hirify.global is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, with a subsidiary in Bariloche, Argentina. Relocation and integration support are available.

What you will do

• Specify, design, implement, build, and verify mission-critical flight platform software for current and future satellite missions.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to software architecture and design decisions.
• Develop engineering tools and infrastructure while helping evolve the software development process.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical growth within the team.
• Collaborate with systems and test teams to troubleshoot defects and accelerate software integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in embedded systems, distributed systems, or mission-critical software.
• Strong C/C++ skills for embedded or real-time software, including data structures, concurrency, debugging, and software design.
• Experience with system architecture, code reviews, static analysis, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and observability or logging.
• Solid knowledge of scheduling, interrupts, concurrency, determinism, and efficient design for limited compute and memory resources.
• Experience with spacecraft software, satellite operations, or aerospace systems, plus knowledge of networking, inter-process communication, distributed autonomy, and security-focused development.
