TL;DR

Telecom Design Engineer (Core Network): Designing and implementing advanced core network nodes including 4G/5G technologies with an accent on subscriber data management and network integration. Focus on deploying virtualized network functions, troubleshooting complex call flows, and ensuring scalability within large-scale telecom environments.

Location: Must be based in Romania (Brasov, Bucharest, Iasi, Timisoara, or Cluj-Napoca)

What you will do

  • Design and implement core network elements such as HLR, HSS, AUSF-UDM, and SDL to support telecom architectures.
  • Integrate SDM solutions and perform subscriber database migrations while maintaining service continuity.
  • Deploy and manage virtualized network functions (VNFs) using Kubernetes and Docker in cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable network solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex call flow issues across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network generations.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve complex technical problems within large-scale environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the IP Domain.
  • Proven expertise in 2G/3G/4G/5G mobile network architecture and call flows.
  • Deep understanding of subscriber profiles, HLR, HSS, and HP-based core network products.
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and experience with router/switch configuration.
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Working knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as Python, Shell, PERL, and Ansible.
