Salary: $229,000–$343,000 annually (Zone A), $218,000–$326,000 annually (Zone B), or $195,000–$292,000 annually (Zone C).

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate critical, scalable services for the logging platform, Airflow, Trino, and petabyte-scale BQ/BQMI datasets.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions.
• Test and debug work to ensure high quality.
• Advocate for and apply best practices in availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience.
• 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or Master’s + 8 years, or PhD + 5 years).
• 1+ years of experience with technical leadership or acting as the domain-expert to a technical organization.
• Proven experience with backend services, distributed systems, and operating highly-available systems at significant scale.
• Ability to independently execute on medium-sized features.
• Understanding of the operational aspects of your system and may participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution.
• Experience in at least one of the following areas: large-scale microservices, distributed systems, cloud computing, storage systems, infrastructure, large-scale system design, machine learning, or natural language processing tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.
