Software Engineer, Front End (React)

TL;DR

Frontend Engineer (React): Developing and testing JavaScript-based web features and applications for the PlayStation ecosystem with an accent on quality, stability, and maintainability. Focus on crafting solutions with product, design, and server engineering teams and optimizing existing solutions.

Location: Home base will be Waterloo, ON. Requires living close enough for occasional in-person meetings and events. Must be able to work in a hybrid environment in Waterloo, Canada.

Salary: $8,098–$12,142 CAD per month (equivalent to $50.61–$75.89 CAD per hour).

What you will do

• Develop, test, and document JavaScript-based web features and applications.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, and Designers on technical requirements and solutions.
• Write unit and component tests to ensure stability and prevent regressions.
• Work independently and with internal/external engineers, reviewing pull requests and design plans.
• Optimize existing solutions and participate in Hackathons and Cafe Days.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• 2+ years of professional web development experience.
• Highly proficient in customer-facing UI Development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, Ember, Jest, Babel, and TypeScript.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners.
• Domain proficiency in performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ambition.
