Fullstack Software Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (AI): Developing and optimizing enterprise data services, federated search, and knowledge management tools with an accent on search services, data repositories, and discovery tools. Focus on leveraging machine learning for content discovery and integrating artificial intelligence for predictive analysis in cloud environments (AWS/Azure).

Location: Candidate must be able to work within the U.S. due to the nature of the Sponsor office's mission and U.S. national interests.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and modify complex software systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Actively participate in Lean Agile ceremonies, including scrums, sprints, and grooming sessions.
• Manage the progress of COTS product integration and ensure development efforts stay on schedule.
• Deploy and troubleshoot applications within AWS/Azure environments, coordinating with security, operations, and engineering teams.
• Perform unit testing (JUnit, Jasmine) and code reviews; document and track vendor software roadmaps and patch updates.
• Create and manage Jira tickets, consult on task scheduling, and provide technical support.
• Implement AI/ML-driven features for predictive analysis and information filtering to enhance data discovery.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of software development experience (6 years with a Master’s degree) and at least 5 years of specific expertise in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Demonstrated experience developing detailed designs, translating customer requirements into technical design, and designing system interfaces.
• Hands-on experience developing Single Page Applications (SPAs) using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular (Version 18+).
• Proven experience developing applications and RESTful web services using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Solr, Elastic, Postgres, and Scala.
• Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational database systems including Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and Postgres.
• Experience troubleshooting Internet/Web protocols such as Tomcat, Node.js, Web Services, and SSL.
• Demonstrated experience with JUnit and Jasmine, and testing platforms such as Jest or Karma.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools including Git, Jenkins, and Nexus.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Sponsor’s suite of repository and search services.
• Experience with "prospective search" tools that match incoming data streams to user profiles.
• Experience with information filtering systems using content-based approaches for data discovery and recommendations.
• Familiarity with Pre-NLP processing pipelines.
• Experience with federated search services across external data systems.
• Experience with tagging and folder services/applications for document curation.
