What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and dbt.
• Develop and optimize BigQuery data models for analytics and product use cases.
• Implement ELT workflows and enforce best practices (testing, documentation, versioning).
• Collaborate with analytics and finance teams to enable trusted metrics and dashboards in Looker.
• Integrate data workflows with backend services and APIs.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability, optimizing performance and cost.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer working with data.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Solid experience with SQL and analytical data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery and production experience with dbt.
• Experience building and maintaining analytics-ready datasets.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, code reviews).

Nice to have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub).
• Experience with Looker (LookML, semantic modeling, dashboards).
• Background in backend or platform engineering, and experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, and experience with streaming or event-based architectures.
