Associate Application Support Engineer

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid role based in Santiago, Chile, requiring office attendance twice a month. Preferential consideration for candidates based locally. This position is not eligible for visa assistance/sponsorship or relocation assistance.

What you will do

• Diagnose, configure, troubleshoot, and solve problems with Atlassian applications.
• Research, diagnose, and identify solutions for complex L1-L2 application support issues.
• Collaborate with Development, Sustaining, and QA teams.
• Install, configure, and maintain high-availability and scalable applications.
• Interact with global customers to troubleshoot business-critical problems.
• Participate in a 24X5 global support setup as needed.

Requirements

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Available to work on rotation shifts (9 am to 6 pm or 12 pm to 8 pm).
• Strong communication skills including proficiency in spoken English.
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Must be based in Santiago, Chile.
• Not eligible for visa assistance/sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Nice to have

• 1+ years of experience as a system or application support engineer.
• Knowledge of shell scripting (Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, Bash, sed, awk, groovy scripting, Jython, Python, Nunjucks).
• Programming skills such as Java or Groovy.
• Comfortable with Linux and/or Windows OS administration.
• Virtualization experience (VMware or similar).
• Ability to write, edit, and debug SQL queries (MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience analyzing and resolving DevOps integration issues (Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, Github, Bitbucket).
• Ability to analyze application server logs (Apache, Tomcat).
