What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of senior and staff engineers, focusing on their well-being and career growth.
• Define technical strategy and roadmaps for the Workflow Platform in partnership with the Product Manager.
• Own team execution, delivery, and technical excellence, driving continuous improvement in operations and practices.
• Guide system design discussions related to latency, concurrency, and scale for distributed systems.
• Act as a central bridge between Research, Engineering, and Product teams, managing stakeholder relationships.
• Contribute hands-on to the tech stack (C++, Python, C#) when needed, including code reviews and on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of direct people management experience, ideally with a larger team (8+) or through significant growth.
• Strong hands-on technical experience in backend software development or research engineering.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• A deep commitment to team growth and well-being, with experience in coaching and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience in a large-scale engineering organization (hundreds of engineers).

Nice to have

• Experience leading a platform service team in a scale-up environment.
• Experience with high-performance, large-scale distributed systems (C++, Go, Rust).
• Familiarity with inference workflow orchestration and ML infrastructure.
• Experience building services on AWS.
