What you will do
- Lead key initiatives that improve how Datadog is used internally by designing tools, systems, or product features that support governance and security at scale.
- Build and maintain internal platforms that make it easy for teams to follow best practices without slowing down.
- Support new internal organizations by automating setup, monitoring, and policy enforcement, reducing manual steps and preventing misconfigurations.
- Align internal identity and access practices with Datadog’s IAM principles to ensure consistency and security.
- Partner with teams across the company to design solutions and build roadmaps that meet internal and external enterprise customer needs.
- Join the team’s on-call rotation and contribute to a strong culture of operational excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production systems at scale.
- Experience with observability platforms or telemetry pipelines in cloud-native environments.
- Comfortable solving complex problems and balancing technical trade-offs with user needs.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code (ideally in Go or Python) and enjoy building tools that others rely on.
- Comfortable integrating AI-driven solutions into platform systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and impact.
- Ability to communicate clearly and enjoy collaborating with others to get things done.
