What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems using expert-level code.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and ensure designs align with agreed principles.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape and deliver solutions, identifying and resolving risks.
• Mentor and pair with engineers to foster technical growth and a culture of engineering excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, testing, CI/CD, observability, and security.

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer with a track record of delivering high-quality systems in a fast-paced, product-led environment.
• Ability to design and build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions with a future-oriented mindset.
• Effective collaboration skills within your squad and ability to share knowledge across teams.
• Proficiency in Python 3 (Flask, Django, or other frameworks) with web experience.
• Experience with at least one SQL dialect.
• Practical experience running Docker locally and in production.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust, Kubernetes, or event systems like Kafka.
• Experience scaling and running high-traffic software on AWS or GCP.
• Experience working with fulfilment systems.

Hiring process

• CV review by the engineering team (screened in small groups to avoid biases).
• 30-minute call with someone from the software engineering team.
• A technical test.
• A 2.5-hour interview, including two 1-hour interviews with peers and a 30-minute chat with the Head of Engineering.
