TL;DR

AI Builder (AI): Designs and builds internal software leveraging AI to simplify, automate, and scale workflows across the organization with an accent on rapid prototyping and turning solutions into reliable tools. Focus on designing scalable, AI-enabled systems, modernizing technical debt into production software, and ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.

Location: Remote, US-only. Some travel to Austin will be required during onboarding.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of internal AI-enabled tools, from design to launch and iteration.
• Design and build scalable, AI-enabled systems to automate repetitive tasks and optimize complex workflows.
• Modernize technical debt by converting ad-hoc scripts and notebook processes into robust production software.
• Embed with internal teams to identify friction points and translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Partner with Product, Data, and Engineering to ensure internal solutions align with the broader company roadmap.
• Drive adoption through training materials and standardize documentation for new system implementations.

Requirements

• Proven expertise using AI-native IDEs (e.g., Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code) and LLMs to accelerate development.
• Deep familiarity with RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to translate exploratory work from JupyterLab or ad-hoc scripts into maintainable production-ready software.
• Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL databases, data modeling, and structured data management.
• Ability to design for cloud environments while maintaining strong software engineering principles.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.

Nice to have

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience building internal platforms or operational tooling.
• Experience in Node.js, Python, and SQL for building tools, services, and automations.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration, job scheduling, or data pipelines.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and cloud-native tooling.
