TL;DR

AWS Solutions Architect: Designing and guiding implementation of secure, scalable cloud solutions across diverse technology landscapes with an accent on end-to-end AWS architectures, non-functional requirements, and cloud transformation. Focus on developing pragmatic roadmaps, facilitating architecture workshops, and ensuring adherence to architecture standards.

Location: Hybrid / Onsite in Edgewood, NY, Phoenix, AZ, South Windsor, CT, or Andover, MA, United States. This role is open only to candidates authorized to work in the US.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 USD annual

What you will do

• Design end-to-end AWS architectures, including landing zones, microservices, serverless, containers, and databases.
• Own architecture decisions considering nonfunctional requirements like performance, reliability, security, and cost optimization (FinOps).
• Produce high-quality architecture artifacts and documentation, including Visio solution flows and current/target-state diagrams.
• Analyze existing solutions, identify gaps, and propose target-state architectures with clear migration steps.
• Communicate proactively with business and technology teams to share information and gain alignment on solutions.
• Establish and improve architecture standards and reusable patterns, guiding delivery teams through implementation.

Requirements

• 5+ years in solutions architecture, cloud architecture, or similar technical leadership.
• Strong AWS architecture experience delivering production systems.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear solution flows and architecture diagrams (e.g., Visio).
• Proven experience analyzing complex, heterogeneous environments and producing current-state and target-state architectures.
• Strong communication skills to align business and technical stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of nonfunctional requirements: availability, performance, security, compliance, and cost.

Nice to have

• AWS certification (Associate/Professional, Professional preferred).
• Experience designing multi-account landing zones and governance at scale.
• Experience with regulated environments (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA).
• Background with enterprise integration patterns and data engineering/analytics platforms.
• Experience with FinOps practices and cost governance models.
