Application Support Specialist (Fintech)

TL;DR
Application Support Specialist (Fintech): Receives and responds to technical customer service requests and inquiries related to payment systems, focusing on resolving configuration-level bugs and providing 2nd level support. Focus on utilizing databases and server environments to diagnose and troubleshoot application issues and supporting deployment processes.
Location: Onsite in Istanbul, Turkey

What you will do
- Handle 2nd level customer demands, including configuration bugs and service requests.
- Provide application support to customers via remote connection or telephone.
- Support the 3rd level process for complex issues, including clarification, testing, and solution submission.
- Execute manual/scripted tests before, during, and after application deployments.
- Plan and prioritize work according to Service Level Agreements.
- Collaborate to define recurring issues, find root-causes, and implement permanent solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical & Electronics, Industry Engineering, MIS, or relevant field.
- Familiarity with software development and support processes.
- English: B2 (upper intermediate) required.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows server and shell scripting.
- Database knowledge (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Familiarity with ITSM ticketing tools (Jira).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong responsibility, ownership, and customer-oriented attitude.
Nice to have
- Credit card and payment system knowledge.
- ITSM knowledge, ITIL certification.
- Experience working in DevOps and Agile culture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD deployment methods and software configuration/release management.
- Hands-on experience in software development (Java, .NET) or shell scripting.
- Know-how in web service integration.
- Experience working with global customers or in a global organization.
