TL;DR

API Engineer (TypeScript, Node.js): Designing, implementing, and maintaining internal and public-facing APIs for hirify.global products, including Studio, CLI, and OAuth applications, with an accent on enhancing reliability and improving public API experience. Focus on integrating with third-party platforms, building robust testing/debugging/monitoring tools, and ensuring stability and performance.

Location: Fully remote within North & South America or Asia-Pacific regions

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and maintain internal and public-facing APIs used across various hirify.global products.
  • Integrate with third-party platforms and partners, providing clear API points for connection.
  • Collaborate closely with various teams (DevOps, Frontend) to ensure smooth API integration and functionality.
  • Build and enhance tools for testing, debugging, and monitoring public APIs' stability, reliability, and performance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in backend API development with strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Expertise in designing robust, scalable, and maintainable APIs, including versioning, pagination, and error handling.
  • Good understanding of PostgreSQL and relational databases.
  • Proven ability to build scalable, maintainable APIs and develop tools for testing, debugging, and monitoring API performance.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerized deployments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with OAuth, JWT, and API security best practices (rate limiting, CORS).
