What you will do

• Create and refine high-performance Android apps for mobile technology.
• Develop stable products for Lens+ Subscribers.
• Design, architect, and implement well-tested Java and Kotlin software for Snapchat's camera.
• Conceptualize, develop, and launch new features.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs and make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams on UI and infrastructure practices.
• Perform code reviews to guarantee code quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent practical work experience.
• Experience developing Android apps using Kotlin or Java.
• Proven understanding of Android platform internals and system services.
• Knowledge of operating system fundamentals, compilers, and performance considerations for low-power, resource-constrained mobile environments.
• Proficiency with multithreading and concurrency on Android.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and Android best practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend).

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical work experience.
• Deep understanding of Android performance optimization.
• Experience with Java.
• Shipped and maintained large-scale, user-facing Android applications with significant traffic.
