Lead QA Test Engineer (Fintech)

Lead QA Test Engineer (Fintech): Creating, executing, and maintaining tests for high-availability, high-throughput, ultralow-latency financial market systems with an accent on functional and automated testing, FIX Messaging, and backend components. Focus on ensuring software meets specified standards, developing testing tools, and collaborating on test plans for complex trading systems.

Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Canada (at least 2 days a week in office)

Salary: $106,000–$148,000

hirify.global’s US Equities Development group is responsible for the architecture, development and support of hirify.global’s North American equities market systems.

What you will do

• Conduct quality control tests and analyses to ensure software meets specified standards.
• Create test data files and draft/revise test plans and scripts for team members.
• Collaborate with internal or external teams to plan and complete all applicable test phases.
• Document and propose for approval release engineering procedures.
• Develop and maintain the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures and methods.
• Collect and analyze process data to recommend improved business practices (if specializing in BPI).

Requirements

• Proficient in Software QA Functional Testing and Automated Testing (Junit).
• Proficient in FIX Messaging testing.
• Proficient in Linux and backend testing.
• Experience with scripting (shell, perl, python).
• Familiarity with Source Code Control (SVN, Git) and Bug tracking (TRAC, Jira).
• Knowledge of Java language and Runtime.
• Work onsite in Toronto at least 2 days a week.

• Knowledge with financial/trading software testing.
