Location: Hybrid in Malta (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

What you will do

• Build and manage database hosting capabilities using Infrastructure as Code for all platform needs.
• Design and implement scalable and distributed database infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Continuously improve, tune, and optimize database platform capabilities based on business needs.
• Analyze, diagnose, and solve issues related to efficiency, performance, and scale.
• Design and manage efficient database schemas, optimize performance, and secure data through authentication, access control, and encryption.
• Support and implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies, including failover and replication.

Requirements

• Proficiency in setting up and administering AWS database services, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong expertise in managing PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases, including administration and high availability.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, with a solid understanding of modules and workflows.
• Configuration management expertise using Ansible or Terraform for cloud infrastructure.
• Familiarity with open-source monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Powershell, and experience with Linux distributions.
