Associate QA Tester (Gamedev)

Location: This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.

What you will do

• Test core game content and systems in a timely manner.
• Write accurate bug reports, triage serious issues, and report directly to other departments.
• Work efficiently and collaboratively to deliver complete test reports as quickly as possible.
• Handle handover of work to, and receive work from, other global test teams to ensure seamless coverage.
• Respond to ad-hoc or time-sensitive test requests alongside regular duties.

Requirements

• Good general PC knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Competent gaming ability and a strong understanding of Rockstar titles, both singleplayer and multiplayer.
• Ability to work productively, collaboratively, and communicate effectively with people at all levels.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to multitask, prioritise, and work within strict time constraints.
• The ability to concisely communicate complex and nuanced information both in-person and through written reports.

Nice to have

• Previous industry experience helpful.
• Familiarity with code editors or IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio, VSCode), reading code, interpreting call stacks.
• Existing experience with database software (Jira, Mantis, Test Track, etc.).
• Degree level educated.
• An interest in and understanding of the technical aspects of video game development.
