Junior Data Engineer

TL;DR
Junior Data Engineer: Contributing to building and evolving ’s data ingestion platform with an accent on data pipelines and data governance. Focus on supporting and extending CI/CD workflows, improving observability and documentation across the data platform.
Location: Hybrid, including at least 12 monthly in-office days in Warsaw, Poland.

What you will do
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Spark, Kafka, and change-data-capture.
- Contribute to frameworks that improve observability of data usage within the storage layer.
- Collaborate with software engineers, SRE, DBRE, analysts, and analytics engineers to understand their workflows and reduce friction in building and maintaining data products.
- Support and extend CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions to validate, test, and deploy data products reliably.
- Help improve observability, documentation, and overall developer experience across the data platform.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience as a software or data engineer (including internships, academic or personal projects) with hands-on exposure to data pipelines or analytics workloads in cloud environments.
- Basic proficiency with Spark and can read and write Spark jobs (Scala or equivalent).
- Foundational understanding of data engineering concepts, including change data capture, Kafka, and data governance.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English.
- Understand modern CI/CD practices and value automation, testing, and observability as core engineering principles.
