Python Data Engineer (ML)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Implement and support ML workflows and model data pipelines.
• Work with large datasets in BigQuery and streaming data via Kafka.
• Containerize applications using Docker and collaborate with ML engineers in Jupyter.
• Optimize data storage, performance, reliability, and implement monitoring with Datadog and Grafana.
• Participate in CI/CD processes and deployment automation.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Python Backend Engineer.
• Strong Python skills, including data processing, APIs, and async basics.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and SQL optimization.
• Experience with Kafka or other streaming systems.
• Familiarity with ML data pipelines and model lifecycle support.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Docker.
• Understanding of data quality, reliability, and performance best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting real-time or near real-time ML systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, or other SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Cloud cost optimization experience.
• Experience with Apache Airflow.
