What you will do

• Evolve Cursor’s motion identity and create scalable systems across product, marketing, and community.
• Own motion work end-to-end from narrative, storyboards, and prototyping through final execution across product launches, campaigns, digital, film, content, and events.
• Design for multiple audiences, from experienced developers to designers exploring code for the first time.
• Develop and optimize motion workflows, including the integration of new tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with product designers to ensure motion consistency across the user experience.
• Collaborate with external motion partners and provide clear creative feedback.

Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating strong motion craft, typography, and strategic thinking across formats.
• Experience building or evolving motion identities for technical products, developer-focused companies, or culturally defining brands.
• Experience creating engaging product launches and UI animation for software products.
• Strong attention to pacing, composition, typography, and sound.
• Strong art direction skills, with the ability to set a clear creative bar and guide external creative partners.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with ambiguity and complexity.

Nice to have

• Experience working at both fast-paced startups and agencies.
• Background in 3D or illustration.
