Location: This role is based in Bellevue, WA and requires in-person attendance 5 days a week.
Salary: $147,000–$183,000 USD

What you will do
- Develop highly available, secure, distributed systems within a microservice architecture.
- Design and maintain systems representing real-world logistics entities like shipments, cargo, containers, and global trade documents.
- Collaborate closely with business partners, product managers, and operations teams to translate complex problems into technical solutions.
- Ship code to production dozens of times per day within a close-knit engineering team.
- Ensure high system reliability and quality by obsessing over metrics and applying key learnings from post-mortems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with a strong engineering background.
- 2+ years of experience in system design and architecture, including familiarity with OOA/OOD and design patterns.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Ruby, Python, TypeScript, or C++).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A "bias for action" mindset and an aptitude for learning quickly.
Nice to have
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
- Understanding of performance tradeoffs, load balancing, and operational issues.
- Ability to convey technical ideas in common terms to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
